Today we’re featuring Truly-Life for our Eight Days of Del Ray Holiday Giveaway. Truly-Life is a sustainable business, based out of Mellenie Runion and her partner Andy’s Del Ray home. Together they produce eco-friendly soaps and gifts, many with ingredients grown in their backyard garden. We first met Mellenie a couple of years ago when she gave us an early Spring tour of her garden. One of the most interesting things we learned is that the sponge-like cleaning tool loofah doesn’t come from the sea, it’s actually a dried out fruit, similar to a cucumber. Mellenie grows loofah in her garden — they are quite incredible by late summer. Mellenie and Andy also grow a variety of vegetables, flowers and herbs. It’s been great having UpCycle Creative Reuse Center (CRC) in the neighborhood since they opened last summer. And we’re just so thrilled to feature UpCycle CRC today in our Eight Days of Del Ray Holiday Giveaway. Throughout the month of December, we’ve partnered with several members of the Del Ray Business Association to offer giveaways to our readers. Keep reading to find out how to enter! UpCycle CRC, founded by Susan Miranda and Kelley Organek, is a community resource in Del Ray located at 1712 Mt. Vernon Avenue. They collect reusable items that are used for arts and crafts and learning opportunities. In their store, they make the items available to the public at affordable prices.
