Scenes from La Bella Strada 2017

We had such a great time walking up and down Mt Vernon Avenue this past weekend watching as empty squares on the sidewalk transformed into works of chalk art. The second annual La Bella Strada street painting festival took place on Sunday drawing crowds who came to admire the street art and make their own art too.

La Bella Strada is modeled after an ancient Italian art form and is a fundraiser for The Del Ray Montessori School. Local artists volunteered their time and talent and local businesses sponsored the artists.

If you missed it, don’t worry, the art is still there, just get to the Avenue before it rains! Here’s a few dozen photos from the event. Which design was your favorite?
