Shop Small: The Village Hardware Weber Room
Hollin Hall’s Village Hardware is amazing in and among itself — a picture perfect mom and pop operation. But the basement of the shop has an added bonus, a room dedicated to grilling known as the “Weber room.” It’s a mecca for grilling enthusiasts.
I had heard about the Weber room from a friend and finally made the trek down Fort Hunt Rd. to check it out in person. The kids and I were looking for a new grill for my husband for his birthday/Father’s day, a week apart from each other. (Note: Village Hardware isn’t compensating us for writing about them, we just like to spread the word about great locally owned small businesses.)
Though we came for just a grill, we found so much more: charcoal and gas grills of all shapes and sizes, smokers, grilling rubs and sauces, cookbooks and how-to guides, replacement parts, cast iron pans and accessories galore.
We picked out the 26″ charcoal grill, an upgrade from our current one. The helpful and friendly staff loaded into my car along with some other garden supplies I found upstairs.
Of course, we couldn’t wait until Fathers Day to give it a try, so my husband assembled it that afternoon in time for our first barbeque of the season.
Village Hardware is located in the Hollin Hall shopping center at 7934 Fort Hunt Road Alexandria, VA.
