Sponsor Shout-Out: Whole Dogz Holistic Day Care
As a dog owner, I’m always on the lookout for great dog-related businesses, so when Whole Dogz, the Alexandria holistic doggie daycare, boarding, and retail shop, expressed interest in advertising, I popped over for a tour to learn more about their business.
Even though Whole Dogz is a sponsor of DIY Del Ray, note that they did not compensate us for this post. My praise is entirely genuine when I say how impressed I was by their spacious and stylish space, the huge indoor play area and outdoor romping area, and the individual boarding suites where any dog would feel comfortable and happy sleeping and hanging out.
Whole Dogz owner Mary Kenkel and her son, Patrick, Whole Dogz Manager, shared a vision of creating a safe and non-toxic place for dogs to play and relax while their owners are away for a day or for an extended period of time.
Their canine guests receive filtered water and all-natural or organic food and treats. All the suites and play areas are cleaned with natural or certified organic cleaning products. And if you want to pamper your dog even more, treat him/her to a shampoo, massage, mud treatment, and an orthopedic hydrotherapy bath at the Whole Dogz Spa.
The little grey dog in this photos is Patrick’s own dog, a lucky little pooch who gets to come to work with him and make new doggie friends every day.
To make drop off or pick up easier for you, there’s a Whole Dogz Lick ‘n Ride at the Van Dorn Metro.
And finally, Mary and Patrick host events in the front lobby like “pints and paws” and meetups for owners who own certain breeds like Corgis or Boston Terriers.
Clearly, Mary and Patrick have found a great way to express their love for dogs and are going all out to make it a great experience for everyone.
