Countdown to the MV Big Flea

Countdown to the MV Big Flea

We’re getting down to the wire at the MV Big Flea. Just TWO shop ‘n drops left this flea season on April 5 and 12, 2014 (2-4 p.m.) at the temporary showroom located at 3815 Mt Vernon Ave. Come on over to drop off household items you don’t want, or purchase any of the fine merchandise that has already been donated. After April 12, the flea will pack up and move all those wonderful donations to the Mount Vernon Rec Center for the actual Big Flea on April 26, 2014.

Merchandise comes and goes every shop ‘n drop. Here are a few of the recent acquisitions — I’ll be working the shop ‘n drop this weekend so email me if you see anything you like and would like it to be put on hold.

A gorgeous wall mirror would look amazing over a dresser or sideboard in a dining room.

This chair is part of a set of six that comes with a dining table.

Baskets galore — great for organizing or Easter treats.

An acoustic guitar in working condition!

A set of four Brady Bunch era chairs with dining table.

Another table, this one with dropdown sides would be perfect in a small home. Tuck away in a corner when not needed.

There’s always a wide selection of lamps…

I can’t believe this kid rocker hasn’t been swooped up!

This table would be sweet in a child’s bedroom.

Also fitting for a child’s room, this round wicker mirror.

This mid-century chair is missing the back cushion, but I bet someone handy could bring it back to life.

The phone photo doesn’t do it justice, but this armoire/tv cabinet is in excellent condition. I especially like the woven detail on the front and sides. Use it for a TV, convert it into a bar, store arts and crafts — it’s so multi-purpose!

Except for the seats which are a little rough, these bar stools are also in good condition.

And finally, the creme de la creme, a vintage mid-century modern radio and record player console! Please take this and give it some love! Not sure if it works, but it’s a beaut. One warning though, it weighs a ton and one of the back legs in broken — the leg is included if you are up for making some repairs, but we have it propped on some boxes.

Come on down to the shop ‘n drop either this Saturday or next and take one of these bargains home with you! The shop will be open from 2-4 p.m. at 3815 Mt. Vernon Ave. Have something too big that you want to donate? Simply email to schedule a pick-up.

See you at the flea!
